Howard Russell Brown, Sr.

Howard Russell Brown, Sr., 67, died Monday, December 07, 2020, at Vidant North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids.

Mr. Brown was born in Halifax County, NC, October 21, 1953, son to the late Robert Lee Brown, Sr. and Thelma Louise Acrey Brown. He loved being  outdoors, especially working in his garden. When he was not working in his garden, he loved to go fishing and also loved cooking. He was a very giving and generous soul, that never met a stranger.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his brothers, Oliver and Larry Brown.

Surviving are his daughter, Shannon Brown Carter of Roanoke Rapids; son, Russ Brown and wife Heather, of Scotland Neck; grandchildren, Shaylin Carter, Shadrick Carter, Reagan Johnson, Shaden Carter, Shamry Carter and Benjamin Brown; great grandchild, Everleigh Carter; fiancé, Debbie Archer and honorary children, Timmy and Katie Archer; brothers, Marshall Brown of Emporia, Robert Brown, Jr., Douglas Brown, John Brown and David Brown, all of Roanoke Rapids and his two sisters, Thelma Bowen and Barbara Wall, both of Robersonville.

Due to CDC and State Covid restrictions, the family will announce a service to remember Mr. Brown’s life at a later date.
