Hollis G Pulliam

Hollis G. Pulliam died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

He was born on April 9, 1927 in Hillsborough, North Carolina. He was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Henry Richard Pulliam and Mamie Gertrude Pulliam; two sisters, Margie Eason, and Dahlia Moore; two brothers , William Oscar Pulliam and Henry Preston Pulliam; all of Roanoke Rapids.

Prior to his retirement in 1988, Hollis was the Postmaster in Roanoke Rapids and was a veteran and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth King Pulliam and his children, daughter Donnie P. Ducharme and husband Richard in Cary, NC; daughter Carol P. Nyborg and husband Craig in Powells Point, NC and their son Adam, a student at NC Wesleyan in Rocky Mount, NC; daughter Shari L. Brightbill, in Roanoke Rapids and her son, Bryan, a student at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC; and son Gary G. Pulliam and his wife Delores in Roanoke Rapids.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Speight officiating. The family will receive friends from Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 at the church and other times at the home of his daughter Shari Brightbill, 621 Hockaday Road. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
