Herbert Edward Perdue

Herbert “Bert” Edward Perdue 82 of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away peacefully at ECU-North surrounded by family on Tuesday August 20, 2024.  Herbert was born on November 30, 1941, in Roanoke Rapids.  He was preceded in death by his mother Marjorie H. Myrick, grandmother Ada L. Slabaugh and his brother David Perdue.

He is survived by his wife Melody Joy Perdue, sons David C. Perdue (Julie), Ted Riley (Debbie), daughters Catherine P. Frates (Tim), Stacy L. Enders (Adrian), Mary J. Haynes, sister Jeane Newsome, grandchildren Amber Burkholder, Meredith Leslie, Kristian Barber, Abigayle Smith, JR Brewer, Riley Brewer, Joseph Brewer,Tyberius Enders, Tristessa Enders, Joseph Enders, Taylor Mollicone, Reid Riley, Lacie Sadler, Lonna Lassiter, Luke Lassiter, Levi Lassiter, Liam Lassiter, 8 great grandchildren, nephews Chris Perdue, Preston Perdue and longtime friend and confidant Dennis “Ole Pal” Hasty.

Bert worked for International Paper for 41 years as an electrical instrument supervisor, he was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Sons of Confederate Veterans Mechanized Calvary and he enjoy Genealogy.

The family will hold a private memorial service.
