Hassell Ray Wardsworth

Hassell Ray “Ray” Wardsworth, Jr., 75, died, October 24, 2022, in Greenville, NC at ECU Healthcare.

Mr. Wardsworth Jr., was born in Edgecombe County, NC, July 15, 1947, son to the late Hassell Ray and Kathaleen Sadie Griggs Wardsworh, Sr. He was a good Christian man and attended Victory Baptist Church until his illness.  In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Wardsworh and his sister, Gail Wardsworth and his first wife, Connie Pittman Wardsworth

Surviving is his wife, Janie Allen Wardsworth, of the home; son, Jeff Wardsworth and wife, Dottie, of Lake Lure, NC; sisters, Elaine W. Corbett, of Nashville, NC and Christine Cochran, and husband, Ricky, of Whitakers, NC.

Rev. Jeremy Kobernat will conduct services from the graveside, Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 11:00 am at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, the family will receive friends after the graveside service and all other times at the home.
