Harvey Harding Ivey

Harvey Harding Ivey, 95 of Roanoke Rapids passed away Friday, April 7, 2017.

Harvey was born May 8, 1921 in Halifax County to the late George Frank Ivey and Mattie Lou Ivey.He was also preceded in death by his wife of 72 years Lillie Mae Collier Ivey.

Mr. Ivey was a longtime member of New Testament Christian Church.He served his country in the United States Air Force during WW II and was a supervisor with J. P. Stevens.

He is survived by his daughter, Norma Ivey Morrison and her husband Ed of Vass, NC; his granddaughter, Laura Morrison Giles and her husband Rick, his great-grandchildren; Bailey Giles and Ryder Giles; his sister-in-law, Frances Jones; his nieces and nephews, Sandra Watson, Doug Herrin, Pat Waters and Al Carter.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 10, 2017 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Daniel West, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Old Cedarwood Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 P.M. Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the funeral home and other times at the home..
