Harry M King

Harry Miller King, 82, of 102 Beechwood Drive, died Friday, December 25, 2009, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

He was a member of East Tenth Street Church of Christ and retired from the postal service after 33 years of service. He was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association and the American Legion.

He was born to the late Vester King and Edythe Irene Huckstep King on February 28, 1927. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Hobbs King.

He is survived by his sister, Alice Bobbitt, of Roanoke Rapids, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 31, 2009, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service at 1:00 P. M. conducted by Dave Chapman, Minister. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to East 10th Street Church of Christ, 1207 east 10th Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. prior to the service on Thursday.
