Happy Smith

Ivan "Happy" Wayne Smith, 61 of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021 in Vidant North Hospital.

Mr. Smith was born on January 5, 1960 to the late Millard Smith and Frances Harrell.

Surviving include his children:  Tabitha Mitchell (Robert), Joseph “Bubba” Smith (Lauren), Brenda Everette (Troy), and Jami Everette (Teon); his stepchildren:  Kris Edmondson and Marcia Weatherwax (George); his brother Alvin “Peanut” (Annie), his sister Frances Ann; 11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his special friends:  Jeffrey Fields, Ronnie Everette, Buckwheat and Mr. Green.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Grant Smith; and siblings,  Leland “Butterball”, Joseph, Jamie, Michael, Anthony “Andy”, Carolyn, Dorothy “Sis”, and Barbara “Butch”.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 6:00 PM.
