Gregory Joseph Dendler

Gregory Joseph Dendler, 72 of Gail Drive, Roanoke Rapids died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

Mr. Dendler was born October 18, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Henry and Germaine Tillman Dendler.Greg was also preceded in death by two sisters: Kathleen and Susan.

Mr. Dendler was a member of First United Methodist Church.He loved the Lake.He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.He had a great sense of humor, was a great friend and encourager.Greg was strong in his faith and gave of himself to his community.He was larger than life and never met a stranger.Greg also owned and operated Allied Claims Service in Buffalo, NY.

He is survived by his wife: Jolene Dendler;his children: Yvonne Westfield and her husband William, Michelle Gonsiorek and her husband David both of Buffalo, NY, Christopher and his wife Shannon of Sherrodsville, OH and Heather Karns and her husband Juel of Roanoke Rapids; his brother: Patrick Dendler and his wife Rita of Buffalo, NY; his grandchildren: Jennifer, Nicole, Ashley, Chelsea, Spencer, Brittney, Hunter, Chase, Hannah and Alexis; his great-grandchildren: Abby, Sophie and Will.

A celebration of life service will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Cory Oliver officiating.The family will receive friends after the service and other times at the home.
