Grady Wilson "Buddy" Keeter Sr

Grady Wilson Buddy Keeter, Sr., 88 of Roanoke Rapids died Monday, February 23, 2015 at Signature Healthcare in Roanoke Rapids.

Mr. Keeter was born July 7, 1926 to the late Lonnie Joe Keeter, Sr. and Fannie Haislip Keeter.He was also preceded in death by his wife: Shirley Barfield Keeter; his sisters: Margaret Keeter, Lucy Barkley, Edith Rook; his brothers: Lonnie Joe Keeter, Jr., Robert Keeter; his special friendCatherine Dickens.

He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church, U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, Amvets Post 320, Shaw-May American Legion Posts 38, Progressive Senior Citizens and Roanoke Rapids Singles Club.

Mr. Keeter is survived by his son: Grady Keeter, Jr of Roanoke Rapids; his brother: Cleveland Keeter and his wife Barbara of Roanoke Rapids; his sisters:Frances Crawford and Gladys Wells of Roanoke Rapids, Genevieve Eason of Glouster Point, VA; his sister in-law: Dorothy Dot Keeter of Newport News, VA;a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuessday, March 3, 2015 at Maranatha Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Little officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 8:30 P.M.Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home of his sister, Frances Crawford.
