Gisela Marta
Kinscheck
Jul 9, 1927 — May 4, 2026
Gisela Marta Kinscheck
(7/9/1927 - 5/4/2026)
Gisela Marta Kinscheck, age 98, passed peacefully in her sleep on May 4, 2026, at her home in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. She spent her final years living with her son-in-law, Keith Williams, whose faithful care was a great blessing to her and the entire family. Born in Wuppertal, Germany, Gisela (then Werner) lived through the hardships of World War II as a teenager before immigrating to the United States with her husband, Harry, and their two young daughters, Renate and Ingrid. Together they built a new life in America in Saint Charles, IL. There they added a son, Ralph to the family and eventually grew their company, Continental Automation, into a successful business.
Gisela and Harry were proud American citizens and deeply grateful for the opportunities they found in their adopted country.A woman of strong faith, Gisela devoted herself to serving God and others. She supported missionaries around the world, led women’s Bible studies for many years, and remained active in church throughout her life. In Roanoke Rapids, she worshiped at Victory Baptist Church, and when visiting Massachusetts, she was a beloved member of her daughter-in-law Julie’s women’s Bible study group.
Gisela loved to travel, swim, plant flowers, and bake German cookies. She especially cherished time with her family, above all her grandchildren, Caleb and Hannah; She rarely missed an opportunity to celebrate graduations, weddings, recitals, and other milestones. Her generosity, practical wisdom, and unwavering love touched the lives of many. She also faithfully cared for both her husband, Harry, and her daughter Ingrid during their final illnesses.
Above all, Gisela will be remembered for her resilience, generosity, deep faith, and fierce love for her family. Her life was a testimony to perseverance, gratitude, and trust in God.
Gisela is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Julie Kinscheck; her daughter, Renate Kinscheck; her son-in-law, Keith Williams; and her beloved grandchildren, Hannah and Caleb Kinscheck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kinscheck, in 2009, and her daughter, Ingrid Kinscheck, in 2018.
A memorial service celebrating Gisela’s life will be held at Victory Baptist Church, 2360 Bolling Road, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina 27870, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The family invites all who knew and loved Gisela to join them in giving thanks for a life well lived and a legacy of faith, courage, and love.
