Gilbert Grant Lassiter

Gilbert Grant Lassiter, 69, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023 at ECU Health North Hospital.

Grant was born in Halifax County on September 3, 1953 to the late Rufus Gilbert Lassiter and Helen Tritt Lassiter. He was also preceded in death by his wife Patsy Love Lassiter and his great-grandchild Joseph G. Fahey.

Grant is survived by his stepchildren, Stephen D. Williams and Angela Quinton Fahey; his grandchildren Kristen Williams, Rami Yousef, Jessica Fahey Balmer, and Michael “Mikey” Fahey; his sister, Faye Lassiter Goisovich; his uncles, Alton G. Tritt and Allen Mack Tritt. He is also survived by his friend and companion, Verla Mae Jenkins.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
