Gertrude Jones Light

Mrs. Gertrude Jones Light, 92, died Friday, December 31, 2021 in her Littleton home.

Mrs. Light was born in Nash County on March 6, 1929, a daughter of Luther Jones and Maggie Garris Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry L. Light, Jr.; a step-grandson, David Edwards; and 8 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Light was a member of Enfield United Methodist Church, but also attended Enterprise Baptist Church.  She was a bookkeeper for the Columbia Peanut Company in Enfield, and had also worked at Meyers Department Store in Enfield.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Edwards (Joe); her son, Jerry Light (Marie); a sister, Eunice Finch; and grandchildren, Jarrod Light, Stephanie Burkee (Jason) and Blair Thompson (Nicole).

The service for Mrs. Light will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 7, 2022 from the graveside at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield.  Pastor Darren Lambert will preside.  Friends may visit with the family following the service.
