Genie Lendwood Harlow

Genie Lendwood Harlow, Jr., 65, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 in ECU North Hospital.

Mr. Harlow was born on December 12, 1958 in Halifax County, the son of the late Genie Lendwood Harlow, Sr. and Lois Mae Joyner.  He was also preceded in death by his sisters Cassie H. Arthur, Nora H. Shelton, and Teresa Harlow, his half sister Lorenda “Lori” Wright, and his brother Willie J. Harlow.

Surviving include his wife Gloria Massey Harlow of the home, his children,  Brandy Shaw (Marc) of Roanoke Rapids, Michael Harlow (Mia) of Harrison Township, MI,  and Rachel Jordan (Lex) of Lansing, KS,  his stepdaughter Kelly Baker (Trae) of Garner, NC, his step son Trey Maness (Laura) of Roanoke Rapids, his sisters Lois H. Jones and Mary H. Mozingo (Troy), both of Roanoke Rapids, his brother Charlie A. Harlow (Patricia) of Roanoke Rapids, 12 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024 in Liberty Pentecostal Holliness Church with Pastor Tony Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.  Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service is serving the Harlow family.
