Gail Tucker Hundley, age 69, died peacefullyon Sundaymorning, November 27, 2016 in The Christopher Center, a warm and loving community at Our Lady of Peace in Charlottesville, VA.

She was born on May 21, 1947 in Raleigh, NC to Joseph Allen Tucker and Laura Eaton Gardner Tucker who raised her in Warrenton, NC. She was the youngest of two daughters. After graduating high school from John Graham High in Warrenton, NC she attended Stratford College in Danville, VA. After graduation from Stratford, Gail went on to have a long career with the EPA in Raleigh, NC. During her time in Raleigh, she was a faithful and active member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church. After her marriage to Andrew, she was an active and faithful member of Norlina United Methodist Church in Norlina, NC. Gail was preceded in death by her loving father, Joseph Allen Tucker, and dearest sister, Virginia (Ginger) Edwards. Gail is survived by her loving husband Andrew Jackson Hundley, her eternally grateful son Joseph Allen Tucker Drake, her mother Laura Eaton Gardner Tucker, her stepson Daniel Hundley, her stepson Jim Hundley, her two grandsons Matthew and David Hundley, and her precious Maggie. Gail will be remembered as a true believer in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, a selfless mother, a beautiful daughter and sister, a loving wife, a dear aunt, a loving grandmother, a lover of animals and nature, and a shining star in the various communities and churches she served.

The following prayer was very near and dear to her heart and was found in her Bible:

Give me a pure heart that I may see Thee

-A humble heart that I may hear Thee

-A heart of love that I may serve Thee

-A heart of faith, that I may abide in Thee

Visitation will be held onTuesday, November 29, 2016 from 1:30-3pmfollowed by a3pmMemorial service - both held at Norlina United Methodist Church in Norlina, NC. Family will be present to greet friends from1:30 pmuntil the time of service.

The family would like to extend our utmost gratitude to all the staff at Our Lady of Peace in Charlottesville, VA, specifically Trisha Gilmer (her best friend and social worker for the last 16 months) and those in the Christopher Center for their attentiveness and loving care.

The family asks that all memorials are made in the form of a donation in Gail's name to the Alzheimer's Association. Also, there will be a website (www.areasontohope.org) that will be active byThursday, December 1where family and friends can donate in Gail's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
