2:00 PM IN THE HOCKADAY FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL.

Fred Clifton Herring, Jr., 87, died Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in his home in Roanoke Rapids.

Fred was born in Hemmingway, SC on March 11, 1933, the son of Fred C. and Birdette Richardson Herring.

He was a retired boiler operator in the textile manufacturing business, and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his sons, Ricky Herring and Dale Herring; sisters, Lois Keeter, Teenie Edwards and Laura Ann Steele; brother, Buddy Johnson; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchilden.

The service for Mr. Fred C. Herring, Jr. will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 25, 2020 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.   A private burial will be held at  New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.   The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.  Social Distancing practices are recommended.
