Fred William Ash, Sr

Reverend Fred William Ash Sr. 87 of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Friday March 15, 2024.  Fred was born on December 11, 1936, in Steubenville, Ohio He was preceded in death by his father Harry Ray Ash and his Uncle Alvie and Aunt Lori who helped raise him, his sister Doris Ash Dobson and a special cousin who was like a brother Gene Ash.

Fred is survived by his wife of 40 years Loretta Godsey Ash, his sons Fred (Kathy) Ash Jr. of Winterville, Alan Ash and Josh Ash of Roanoke Rapids, his daughters Angie Ash of Rocky Mount, Allison Clontz (Bryan) of Manteo, Audrey (fiancé Christopher Martin) of Roanoke Rapids, grandchildren Cam (Dana),Kyle (Sophie), Carrie (Shaun), Melissa, Rebecca (BJ), Anna, Andrew, Taylor, Chandler, Landon, Ciara, Avery, Owen, Georgia-Ann, Isaac, Malachi, Zach and Grady, great grandchildren Katie, Micah, Pete, Paul, Stella, Gracie, Madalyn, Paris, Zach, Wesly, Olivia, Brooklyn, Samson, Jonah, Connor, Benjamin, Macie, Jack, Mallie, Everett and Dallas.

Fred served his country in the United States Air Force, he loved helping the children at St. Jude’s Hospital.

The family will have a private memorial service later.
