Frances Ernestine Bland Sorie

Frances Ernestine Bland Sorie, 91, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Signature Healthcare in Roanoke Rapids.

Mrs. Sorie was born September 14, 1923 in Pitt County, NC to the late James T. and Mattie Bland.She was also preceded in death by her husband: James Henry Bill Sorie, her son: Hubert Hardee Lowe Sorie; her sisters: Virginia, Luckins, Mattie Fae and Grace; her brothers: John, Hubert and J.T..

She is survived by her son: Billy Sorie and his wife Mary Ann of Roanoke Rapids; her daughter: Priscilla Barnes and her husband Van of Grandy, NC; her sister: Frances Eatman of Greenville, NC; her grandchildren: Kaye Inscoe and her husband David, Dana Barnes and her husband Robert, Tina Childress and her husband Billy, Angie Sorie and her husband Jerry, Debbie Melson and her husband David and Garrie Barnes; numerousgreat grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Darlington Baptist Church with Rev. James McLean and Rev. Richard Newton officiating.The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
