Faye Passmore Bohanon

Faye Passmore Bohanon, 92, of Roanoke Rapids, died Monday, September 3, 2018 at Signature Health Care.

Faye was born June 5, 1926 in Haywood County, NC, a daughter of Horace Greeley and Ora Mae Revis Passmore, who preceded her in death.

She was an independent, strong woman, raising three children after unexpectedly becoming widowed following the death of her husband James Bohanon in an automobile accident. Faye loved to travel, and spent several years in Colorado with her sister, and working with disabled adults all the while.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara B. Pittman; daughter-in-law, Joyce Bohannon; and six siblings.

Faye is survived by two sons, James "Jimmie" Bohannon and Douglas Bohanon, both of Roanoke Rapids; a sister, Elaine Turner (Robert) of Halifax; grandchildren, Tammy Clark (Bob), Sandy Dixon (Jeffrey), Michael Bohanon (Kim), Brian Bohanon (Robin), Carol Dee Bohanon; great-grandchildren, Ashley Bellamy, Ashlyn Bohanon, Seth Bohanon, Cameron Podruchny, Carson Bohanon; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family from 6 - 7 pm Thursday at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.

The funeral service for Mrs. Bohanon will be held at 1 pm Friday at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, with interment following in Ebenezer United Methodist Church cemetery. Pastor Randy Martin will preside.
