Fannie Stone Tompkins

Fannie Loretta Stone Tompkins, 90, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Monday, April 20, 2026, at Signature Healthcare.

She was originally from Gaston, NC and moved to Panama after her marriage to join her husband (Marion Francis Tompkins, Jr.). They moved to Roanoke Rapids after he was discharged from the Army.

She was a devoted wife (Married March 11th, 1950) to Marion Francis Tompkins, Jr. for 69 years until his death on September 9th, 2019. She was also a devoted mother to her son Tim Tompkins.

She was a hairdresser for many years plus she worked in retail sales until she stopped working to take care of her husband.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Gardner Tompkins and Shonna, of Raleigh; her granddaughter Anna Tompkins Urban and her husband Stephen of Raleigh; and her grandson Jesse Gardner Tompkins and his wife Macy of Georgetown.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M.,  Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Cedarwood Cemetery.
