Evelyn Chase Rook

Mrs. Evelyn Chase Rook, 72,  died Wednesday afternoon, April 7, 2021 in her Halifax home.

The daughter of George William Chase and Edna Mae Cloud Chase, Evelyn was born July 28, 1948 in Dover, Delaware.

She attended cosmetology school, and later retired from JP Stevens where she worked as a weaver.  She was a member of Quankie Baptist Church.  Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Junior Rook; sons, Anthony Lee “Tony” Rawlings, Douglas William Rawlings and John Rook; sister, Edith Stokely; sisters-in-law, Frances Vincent and Joyce Gardner; brother-in-law, Calvin Ramsey; 5 grandchildren; niece and nephew, Casey and Patrick Stokely; as well as other nieces, nephews and extended family.

Friends may visit with the family from 12 noon until 12:45 pm, Monday, April 12, 2021 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Jeremy Kobernat presiding. Mrs. Rook will be cremated following the service.
