Evelyn Hope Hales Clay

Evelyn Hope Hales Clay, 91 of Enfield, NC passed away peacefully at Bryan Health & Rehabilitation on Sunday September 22, 2024.  She was born on May 5, 1933, in Wayne County.  She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Wilbert and Martha Maybelle Hales, husband Robert Earl Clay and son William Robert Clay.

She is survived by her sons Phillip Clay, Michael Clay, James (Jennifer) Clay, Henry Clay, her grandchildren Brian & Brandon Clay of Rockford Illinois, Zachary Clay, Aarron Clay, Brianna Clay, Micheal Crickmore and several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday September 25, 2024, 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremations. Graveside service will be held on Thursday September 26, 2024, at 2:00pm at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield with Pastor Todd Lewis presiding.

Evelyn is the last of the Hales family, she enjoyed reading and loved her family.

In lieu of flowers please donate in Evelyn’s memory to Tabernacle Baptist Church or the Enfield Fire Department.

The family has requested that everyone that wishes to attend dress casual.
