Ernest Benjamin Johnson

Ernest Benjamin Johnson, 77, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at his home.  Mr. Johnson was born on July 18, 1946, the son of the late Sarah Matthews and Charles Alexander Johnson.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Johnson.

Mr. Johnson served our country as a member of the United States Navy Seabees during Vietnam.  He loved fishing and working on old cars.

Surviving include his wife Phyllis Jones Johnson, his son Allen Wayne Johnson (Christy) of Roanoke Rapids, his sister Joyce Johnson Singleton of Conway, SC, his sister-in-law Francis Johnson of Conway, SC, his grandchildren Cameron Johnson and Connor Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 52 Anna Louise Ln, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.  Hockaday Funeral & Cremation is serving the Johnson family.
