Emma Louise Carter Conwell, 87, died Monday, March 28, 2022, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation in Weldon, NC.

Mrs. Conwell was born, April 6, 1934, in Halifax County, NC, daughter to the late Thomas and Harriet Carter. Mrs. Conwell was a member, of over 70 years, to Roanoke Rapids First Pentecostal Holiness Church, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a heart of gold, loved her church and family, never judged anyone and was always forgiving.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Conwell was preceded in death by two brothers, and 2 sisters.

Mrs. Conwell is survived by her husband, Phillip J. Conwell, of the home; daughters, Judy Pierce of Gasburg, VA, Brenda Clary, Kathy Griffin and husband, Randy, and Jackie Fowler, all of Roanoke Rapids and her stepdaughter, Phyllis Moody; brother, Bob Carter and wife Faye, of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Pastor Matthew Smith will conduct a funeral service Friday, April 1, 2022, at 2 pm at Roanoke Rapids First Pentecostal Holiness Church and the family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 1 pm, also at the church. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.
