Elsie B Carroll

Elsie Barnette Carroll, 86 of 115 Clearfield Drive died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Carroll was born July 28, 1926 in Halifax County to the late Richard Westley Barnette and Eva Hatchell Barnette. She was also preceded in death her husband: Lawrence Draper Carroll; her sister: Sarah Barnette; her brothers: Ben, Willie and Carl Barnette; her daughters: Nancy and Beverly Carroll and her granddaughter: Crystal Gayle Bell.

She was a member of Harvest Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Mrs. Carroll survivedby two sons: Herman Lee Carroll and his wife Leatha of Richmond, VA and John Wesley Carroll and his wife Arlene of Plymouth, NC; two daughters: Brenda Carol Bell and Linda Hudson both of Roanoke Rapids and Lorreta Jean whom she loved like a daughter of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren: John W. Carroll, II, Frankie Boo Boo Carter, II, Angela Carroll, Erica Hudson, Jenifer Soria, Marie Hudson Jenkins, Michael Hudson, Valerie Harlow, Tiffany Hudson Garner and Willie Harlow and sixteen great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Norwood Starling officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 1:30 P.M. prior to the service at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home of Linda Hudson, 1120 Oakland Street..
