Ellen Gertrude Shearin

Ellen Gertrude Shearin, 83, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 in Greensville Health and Rehab in Emporia. Mrs. Shearin was born on May 19, 1942 in Halifax County, the daughter of Gertrude Pauline Bradley Shearin and Woodrow Wilson Shearin. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Carlton Dale Shearin (Roy’s twin), William Woodrow Shearin (Nellie) and Norman Andrew Shearin, her sister-in-law Odessa Shearin and her brother-in-law T.L. Harlow.

Survivors include her son Joseph Luke Jordan, IV (Wanda), her grandchild Willian-Brandon Luke Jordan (Jennifer), her great grandchildren McKinley Wiggins Jordan and Lillian Elizabeth Jordan, her siblings Robert Anthony Shearin, Betty Jean Harlow, Roy Neal Shearin (Becky), and Bonnie Junita Overton (William), and many nieces, nephews, and other extended families.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 22, 2026 in Pleasant Hill Christian Church with Pastor Greg Hand officiating. Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockdadayfs.com.
