Elizabeth Mae Quay

Roanoke Rapids-

Elizabeth Mae Quay, 73, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Kindred Health Care (Guardian Care) in Roanoke Rapids.

Mrs. Quay was born in Brunswick County, VA March 3, 1939 to the late William H. Rooker and Rebecca J. Caroll Rooker. She was a weaver with J.P. Stevens-River Mill for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Quay is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Wilson Quay.

Surviving are her three sons, Woody Turner and wife, Teresa, of Roanoke Rapids, Kenny Turner and wife, Shelia, of Darlington, and Bo Turner of Roanoke Rapids; two daughters, Debbie Stephenson of FLA and Cindy Phipps of Roanoke Rapids; two brothers, Wayne Rooker and wife, Aileen, and Ray Rooker and wife, Katy, both Roanoke Rapids and four sisters, Lucy Scott of Littleton, Jean Jones and husband, Tom, of Gaston, Carolyn Bochure of Littleton and Faye Campbell of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 7-8:30 pm and all other times at 5922 HWY. 903 Roanoke Rapids, NC.

A graveside service will be Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Crestview Memorial Cemetery officiated by Rev. Rick Gaskins.

Members of the family wish to extend a heart felt thanks to Teresa, for her love, compasion, and actions displayed during this difficult time. Those acts of kindness will not be forgotten.
