Edsel "Boodle" Simpson Tritt

Edsel Boodle Simpson Tritt, 80, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Tritt was born March 21, 1934 in Halifax County to the late Urise Robert and Kate Bain Tritt. Mr. Tritt was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an avid hunter, who had a special place in his heart for his dear friends with whom he spent many hours in the great outdoors. Mr. Tritt also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son Kenneth Edsel Kenny Tritt; his brothers, Douglas Tritt; Robert Tritt; and Edwin Bill Tritt; and two sisters, Mildred Whitley and Helen Lassiter. Mr. Tritt is survived by his wife Mildred Tritt; his daughter Teresa Callahan and husband David; his step-son Jerry Scott and wife Lenora; his grandchildren Sonya and Samantha; Jeffrey Tritt and wife Chryl; Jeffrey Scott and wife Karen; and Jeremy Scott and wife Devin; and 9 great grandchildren. Mr. Tritt is also survived by two brothers, Gene Tritt and wife Anna Wayne; and Mack Allen Tritt; and a special friend and caretaker Betty Jones. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. James Jenkins and Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, July 25, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service and all other times at the home.
