Edna Anderton Turner

Edna Anderton Turner, 86, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024 in her home.  Mrs. Turner was born on January 9, 1938 in Emporia, VA, the daughter of the late Sallie Belle Floyd and Joseph Atwell Anderton and was the widow of James Thomas Turner, Sr.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Jane Johnson.

Mrs. Turner was a member of Victory Baptist Church, she was retired as a nurse and loved to read and scrapbook.

Surviving include her children:  Connie Motley (J.R.) of Roanoke Rapids, James Thomas “Tommy” Turner, Jr. (Debra) of Roanoke Rapids, Charles Edward Turner (Sue) of Roanoke Rapids, and James “Billy” King (Tammy) of Martinsville, VA; her grandchildren:  Jamie Rose, Dustin Turner (Katie), Erica Turner (Steve), Krista Clary (Dale), Charles “Chad” Turner, Jr. (Allison), and Shameron Johnston, 10 great grandchildren, and many other extended family members.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 13, 2024 in Cedarwood Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Kobernat officiating.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.  Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service is serving the Turner family.
