Edna Collier Edmonds

Edna Collier Edmonds, 84, passed away peacefully at Treyburn Nursing Center in Durham, NC on January 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Sterling Edmonds, Sr.

Edna was a very devoted mother and friend. She lived all of her adult life on the family farm and enjoyed working in the dirt. Her greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by each of us.

She leaves to cherish her memory son, Sterling Edmonds, Jr. and wife Barbara of Summerfield, NC. Daughter, Patsy Stranger and husband Wayne of Durham, NC; son, Michael Edmonds and wife Mary of Wake Forest, NC; brother, Thomas Collier of Greenville, SC. Known as Meemaw and Gaga to grandchildren, Joy, Jennifer, Taylor, Brooks, Hayley, Samantha, Sara, Cooper, Colby, Carly, Timothy and Christina; great-grandchildren; Michael, Thomas, Brenden, Dylon, Jillian, Ellie, Austin, Zander, and Peyton.

Also surviving are special cousins, friends, and caretakers, Louise and Cleo Bailey, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Cookie and Ruth and the staff at Treyburn for their love and care during her eternal journey.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at South Rosemary United Methodist Church with Rev. Stan Lewis, officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church prior to the service.
