Earl Wayne Finney

Earl Wayne Finney, 75 of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by family on Saturday October 18, 2025. Earl was born on December 13, 1949, in Halifax County, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by parents Bassell and Lorene Finney, his son Phillip Finney, and sister Donna Marie Finney.

He is survived by his sons Michael Finney (Junie), Chris Finney, Archie Stephenson (Katherine), daughters Dana Finney, Melissa Wade, brothers Jr Finney, Arnold Finney, Leroy Walton, Tommy Walton, sisters Linda Lewis, Brenda Portales, Mary Finney, and grandchildren Destiny, Skylar, Britney, CJ, Christian, Amaya, Amelia and Zoey.

Earl was a loving father and grandfather; he served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He loved building things with wood and stone and loved his dogs.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
