Dorothy Elizabeth Bradley

Dorothy Elizabeth Bradley, 85, of Halifax passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her daughters home.

She was born January 3, 1931 in Wake County to the late James Judson Kearney and Arelia Jordan Kearney.She was also preceded in death by her husband, Milton Bradley; her sister, Frances Harris.

Mrs. Bradley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved sewing, crocheting, quilting and woodworking. She was a longtime member of Halifax United Methodist Church. She was also Town Clerk of Halifax for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Pike and her husband Herbert, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, Pam Bradley and Laura Godley and her husband Joey both of Enfield; her grandson, G.C. Allsbrook of Scotland Neck; her great-grandson, Nicolas Allsbrook; her brothers, James Kearney and his wife Mary of Littleton and Charles Kearney of Greenville; a special niece, Susan Harris; many nieces and nephews.The family would also like to thank her caregiver, Cheryl Dickens and her nurse, Tammy Rodwell.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Halifax United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Formo officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 7:30 P.M. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
