Dorothy "Sis" Allen Waters

Dorothy Allen "Sis" Waters, 93, of Roanoke Rapids, died August 31, 2025 in Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Dorothy was born in Halifax County August 19, 1932, the daughter of the late Lee Allen and Dora Love Allen. She is also preceded in death by her husband Donald Waters and her son Lin Walker.

She attended Harvest Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church. She also enjoyed going to the Chattahoochee Club on Friday nights.  She worked at JP Stevens until they closed and at Cato’s for over 20 years.

Dorothy dearly loved her family.  She is survived by her son Tony Walker; her grandchildren April Walker, Rusty Walker (Rhonda), Robin Walker (Deborah), Shannon Walker, and Lindsay Dickens; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; Ricky Dickens; and her daughters-in-law Chris Walker and Gail Walker.

The family will receive friends at her home, 75 Lupine Lane in Roanoke Rapids.

There will be a graveside service, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 2:00PM at Cedarwood Cemetery with Pastor Tim Bowen officiating.  A visitation will be held prior to the service at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service from 12:00 - 1:30 PM.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com.
