Donald Thomas Comby

Donald Thomas Comby, 85 of Lake Gaston, Littleton, NC previously from Westfield, NJ died January 7, 2010 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount.

Prior to retirement Dons career was with MetLife as a sales representative and sales manager. He served four years in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of Myrick Hills Country Club in Littleton, NC and loved sports, gardening and travel. Don was dedicated to his family and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Merten.

Don is survived by his wife Evelyn Comby of 58 years; three daughters; Marianne Matthews and her husband David of Jupiter, FL., Donna Comby of North Plainfield, N.J., and Denise Comby of Tucson, AZ.; two grandchildren, Thomas and Michael Matthews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service from 1:30-3:00 and Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 at the funeral home with Rev. Stan Lewis officiating..
