Dewey Mack Taylor, Sr., 80 of 600 Jefferson Street, Roanoke Rapids died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Mr. Taylor was born July 28, 1932 in Bladen County, North Carolina to the late Burry Taylor and Cora Pait Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his sister; Evelyn Taylor: his brothers; Dempsey Taylor, C.J. Taylor and Graham Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife; Iris Taylor: his sons; Dewey Mack Taylor, Jr. and his wife Leigh of Roanoke Rapids, and Mark Taylor of Virginia: Daughters; Phyllis Grainger, Melanie Taylor, Gloria Ceglarski, and Melissa Gaines; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren all of Virginia: step-son; Billy Hux and his wife Linda: step-daughter; Judy Watson and her husband Marty of Darlington: his sister; Margaret Singletary of Bladensboro, NC: grandchildren; Amber Lynn Taylor of Wake Forest, NC, Christopher Mack Taylor of Morehead City, NC, Dewey Mack Taylor, III Little Mack and Jesse Butler of Roanoke Rapids: step-grandchildren; Brandon Hux of Wake Forest, NC, Lauren Frazier of Rolesville, NC, Brenna Warner of Cary, NC, Tabitha Crawley of Roanoke Rapids and Tina Frazier of Centerville, NC: Eleven great-grandchildren; and Nine step-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 5:00 P.M. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home..
