David Lee Padgett

David Lee Padgett of Roanoke Rapids, NC, passed away peacefully in ECU Medical Center in Greenville on Thursday, February 1, 2024.   David was born on September 1, 1953 in Halifax County.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Lee Alfred Padgett (Betty) and Estell Massey Lassiter (Bill), his brother Michael Wayne Padgett, and his special pet Whitey.

David is survived by his daughter Amanda Leigh Padgett of Richmond, VA, his sister Deborah Francis (Tommy) of Roanoke Rapids, his lady friend “Angel” his nieces Lisa Starling and Renee Padgett, his nephews Michael Padgett and Tommy Francis, al of Roanoke Rapids, and several great nieces and nephews.

David was the Fire Chief of Davie Fire Department, and he attended Victory Baptist Church

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Davie Fire Department with Pastor Jeremy Kobernat officiating.   Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:30 PM at Davie Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Davie Fire Department, 3155 Hwy 158, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
