David Eugene Nowell

David Eugene Nowell, 56, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 04, 2013 at UNC Hospitals, in Chapel Hill.

Mr. Nowell was born in Halifax County, June 1, 1956 to the late Thomas Eugene Nowell and Lala Jolly Nowell. He was a master carpenter by trade, loved old westerns and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Mr. Nowell dearly loved his family and friends.

Surviving are his two daughters, Jenny Lee and husband, Richard of Roanoke Rapids, and Erica Nowell and special friend, Brooke Clary, of Bracey, VA; brother, Greg Nowell of Roanoke Rapids; four sisters, Sheila Nowell Hardee and special friend, Rufus Williams, of Roanoke Rapids, Joyce Nowell Yarborough of Roanoke Rapids, Rose Marie Nowell Wilson and special friend, Tommy Jones of Darlington, NC, and Dorothy Vick and husband, Steve, of Roanoke Rapids. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Taylor Lee, Jeremy Lee, and Jacob Rook.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 11:00 am-12:30 pm. A graveside service will immediately follow at 1:00pm at Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, officiated by Pastor Wayne Marshall.
