David Horne

David Clayton Horne, 65, died, June 2, 2012 on Jefferson St., surrounded by his family.

David was born in Sampson County, NC, June 27, 1946 to the late Jennings Horne and Leoma Magaline Autry Horne. He was kind hearted and known for his great sense of humor, having the ability to make the ones around him laugh even during his illness. David was also a member of First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Earl Horne and a sister, Betty Jo Horne.

Surviving is wife, Kay H. Horne of the home; brother, Steve Horne and sister, Treba Cannon of Pine Level, NC. Also surviving are three special great-nieces, Patience, Sheida, and Heaven McLaughlin; one special great-nephew, Benjamin Perry and a special young friend, Hunter Byrum.

The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, who is handling arrangements, Monday, June 4, 2012 from 7-9 pm.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Bane Angle and Billy Meinsen, Minister in the chapel at Hockaday, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow in Community Center Baptist Church Cemetery.
