David Norman Cook, 74, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at ECU Health North Hospital,

David was born December 28, 1951, in Shiawassee County, Michigan to the late Frank Albert Cook and Vivian Louise Strait. David was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Anne Cook.

David is survived by his children, Eric Cook and his wife Lori of Roanoke Rapids and Kelly Vann and her husband Mark of Gaston; his grandchildren, Briana Vann, Sean Cook, Caleb Cook, Sara Vann, Trinity Cook and Piper Vann.

A Celebration of David’s Life with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 3, 2026, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
