Danny Ray Marlow, 69, died September 26, 2021 in his Roanoke Rapids home.

Born in New Hanover County, NC on September 2, 1952, he was the son of Frank Ray and Barbara Crocker Marlow. His parents, and a son, Ira Marlow, preceded him in death.

Danny served in the US Army during the Vietnam war.  He was a fun loving man that enjoyed playing golf, NASCAR racing, and cheering for the Tarheels.  He loved to cook, and prior to becoming disabled, worked with his brother at Marlow’s BBQ and Seafood in Salisbury.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda S. Marlow; step-daughters, Beverly Everette, Crystal Johnston, Susan Piland; brothers, Jerry Marlow and Mark Marlow; sisters, Cindy Simpson, Pam Osborne, Janice Osborne; and 6 grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.

The funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 30, 2021 from the graveside at Crestview Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Stan Lewis will preside.
