Connie Grubb

Mr. Connie Grubb, 64, of Roanoke Rapids died Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Vidant North Hospital.

Connie was born in Davidson County, NC on September 16, 1957, the son of Richard Grubb, Sr. and Susie Mahala Grubb.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Corey Johnson; and a sister, Caloua Snider and her husband, James.

Connie was an outstanding carpenter. At the time of his death, he was employed with Strata Solar.  He was a friend and helper to anyone that needed it, and never met a stranger.  Connie was the type of man that had no filter, so if you didn’t want to know you better not ask.

Connie loved to laugh; he was usually the loudest person in the room.  If you weren’t careful, he would embarrass you.  He liked spending time at the beach, which was one of his favorite places.

More than anything, Connie loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Connie is survived by his wife, Gloria; sons, Eddie Birdsong (Cindy), Lannie Birdsong (Tonya), and Buddy Grubb; daughters, Kim Jenkins (Daniel), and Ashley Cox; brothers, Jr. Grubb, Ricky Grubb, Sr., and his twin, Jonny Grubb; sister, Glenda Darnell; grandchildren, Brittany Odom, Autumn Jolly, Dustin Jenkins, Kelsey Jenkins and Emily Jenkins; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  Committal will be private.
