Clinton Lamar Clay

Clinton Lamar Clay, 56, of Pinewood Acres Road in Henrico died October 20, 2019 at Ahoskie Assisted Living Center.

Clinton was born in Sampson County on March 23, 1963, the son of Clifford L. and Inez Cox Clay.  His mother, and brother, David L. Clay, preceded him in death.

He was retired from JP Stevens where he worked as a weaver.  Clinton was an avid bowler; he was proud of the fact that his two man team finished 3 ^rd in the Las Vegas Non-Professional Invitational Tournament.  He was a member of Community Free Will Baptist Church in Weldon.

Survivors include his father, Clifford; sister, Brenda Hobbs; brother, Henry Eugene Clay; nephews and niece, Chuck (Marsha) Webb, April (Mark) Garvey, Henry Eugene Clay, Jr.; very special friend, Tammy Hobbs Scales; and other extended family.

The memorial service will be held at Community Free Will Baptist Church on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 3:00 pm.  Friends may visit with the family following the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Free Will Baptist Church, 1506 Washington Avenue, Weldon, NC 27890.
