Claude Arnold Lucy, 79, of Willow Street, died Monday, September 3, 2012, at Liberty Commons in Weldon.

Mr. Lucy was a deliveryman for Wonder Bread for many years. He also served in the United States Army, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved golfing, fishing, and his good ole dog, Colby.

He was born June 1, 1933 in Dolphin, Va., to the late Claude Harrison Lucy and Evelyn Bottoms Lucy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bernice, and two brothers William and Reginald.

He is survived by his daughters: Karen L. Walker and husband, David, of Charlotte and Kathy L. Sadler and her husband, David, of Roanoke Rapids; his grandchildren: Darya Walker, April Sadler, and Jason Sadler; his great-grandchild: Rilen Edwards; his sisters: Susie Clark, Doris Archer, and Audrey DeBerry.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 6, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery in Triplett, Virginia.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P. M. at the funeral home and other times at 1556 Rhea Smith Road,.
