Clarence Lee Sledge

January 13, 1965 — April 16, 2025

Clarence Lee Sledge, 60, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.  Mr. Sledge was born on January 13, 1965 in Roanoke Rapids, the son of the late Barbara Fowler and Clarence Sledge, Jr.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Michael Sledge.

Lee worked with the City of Roanoke Rapids, he enjoyed Camping, Fishing, and Hunting.

Surviving includes his fiancé Debra Harris, his loving pet Skoot, his former wife and still good friend Dena Sledge, their daughter Bionca Brown; his sisters Kimberly Thacker (John) and Angie Trinneer (Michael), his grandsons:  Jayden VanDyke and Cain Brown; his great grandson Jerry “Ju Ju” Vowell, Jr., his nephews:  Chris (Ashley), Steven (Katelin) and Anthony (Monica), his great nephews Luke, Jacob, Hunter, and Ryker, his great nieces Adrianna, Harper, Kenzleigh, and Kennedy.

The family would like to thank his best friend John Motley, Clayton and Novella Casey, and everyone at the Public Works Division for the kindness during this difficult time.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Jason Yeatts officiating.  Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.hockadayfs.com .
