Clarence William Mann Sr

Clarence William Mann, Sr., 74, died Monday, May 27, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Mr. Mann was born in Halifax County, VA April 13, 1939, to the late Hudson Mann and Lucy Mann. He loved the outdoors where he spent his time fishing, camping and tending to his garden, from which he gave so many vegetables to friends and family. Mr. Mann was also a United States Army Veteran.

Surviving is his wife, Shelby B. Mann of the home; children, Joy Mann Duarte, Jeffrey Mann and wife, Lisa, of Blackstone, VA, Karen Clark and husband, Wayne of Hoboken, GA, Connie Crews, Carolyn Red Boone, Clarence Billy Mann, Jr. and wife, Amy, Barbara Mann, and Donald Crews, all of Roanoke Rapids; sisters, Pauline Mann Stafford, Mable Mann Matusowitz, Louise Mann, all of Henderson, NC; brother, James Mann and wife, Diane, of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren, Matthew Crews and wife, Kayla, of Conyers, GA, Joseph Boone, Kasey Boone, Tyler Jones, all of Roanoke Rapids, Krickett Crews of Wilmington, NC, Elizabeth Mann, William Hux, of Roanoke Rapids, Chad Durante and wife, Cassie, of Kenbridge, VA, and Justin Duarte of Crewe, VA; great-grandchildren, Harlie Strickland, Zachary Smith, Cody Gray, Memphis Crews, Jayce Boone, Jaxon Mann, all of Roanoke Rapids, and Alexis Duarte of Crewe, VA. Also surviving are some very special friends, his two dogs, Bear and Loulabell, Chris Campbell and doodle bug.

The family will celebrate Clarences life, Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
