Cindy Barrett

Mrs. Cynthia Meadows “Cindy” Barrett, 63, of Garysburg died March 7, 2021 at Vidant North Hospital following a prolonged illness.

She was born in Halifax County on October 12, 1957, the daughter of Claude and Frances Meadows.

Cindy was retired from Roanoke Rapids High School, where she was the assistant manager in the cafeteria.  She had also worked in the cafeteria at Chaloner Middle School.

Cindy was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.  She loved her family, “going” and shopping….she even enjoyed shopping from home.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Barrett; son, Brent Hill (Shannon); daughter, Jessica Howard (Jonathan); grandchildren, Colt Manning, Landen Hill, Kyle Howard; brothers, Lee Meadows (Tina), Gary Meadows (Donna); and sister, Margaret Vaughan (Bernie).

The service for Cindy Barrett will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from the graveside at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.  Pastor Robert Hill will preside.  The family will greet friends following the service.

Those attending are asked to observe face covering and social distancing recommendations.
