Christine Pearson Callihan

d. June 28, 1928

She was a lifelong Methodist and had been a member of Calvary United Methodist Church since 1957. She graduated from the Roanoke Rapids Nursing School and was a registered nurse since 1947, retiring in 1990. She never really retired because whenever she had a roommate at Guardian Care, she would also care for and nurse them. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister and also loved fishing and gardening. Born June 28, 1928, to the late James Thomas Pearson and Ida Louise Williams Pearson, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Cary Callihan, and a sister, Polly Finch. She is survived by her daughter, Carla Little and husband, Terry, of Littleton; two sisters: Mary P. Duke of Roanoke Rapids and Jean Hedgepeth of Norfolk, Virginia; grandchildren: Elizabeth Inscoe and her husband, Jamie, Melissa Little and Terri Little; great-grandchildren: Tucker and Emma Inscoe, all of Littleton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 28, 2010, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service, at 11 A.M. conducted by Rev. Darren Lambert and Rev. Stan Lewis. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Littleton. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 27, 2010, from 7 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home and other times at 614 Myrick Estates Road, Littleton. Memorial gifts may be made to Enterprise International Medical Mission Fund to be used for Medicines and Supplies, 404 Enterprise Road, Littleton, N. C. 27850.
