Charles "Charlie" S. Wells, Iii

Charles Samuel “Charlie” Wells, III, 73, of Roanoke Rapids died Thursday, March 24, 3033 at Vidant North Hospital.

Charles was born in Halifax County on April 24, 1948.  His parents were Hubert Moore and Agnes Bass Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma Sharon Wells; sons, Kelly Parrish and Billy Parrish; grandchildren, Travis Hooker, Arial Parrish and Crystal Remondi; and a nephew, Chad Vinson.

Charles worked in construction prior to his retirement, and afterwards enjoyed staying busy outside building and tinkering with his own things.  He enjoyed fishing, and most of all, he loved his family.

Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Parrish (Ed Taylor) and Raven Parrish (Chris Barbour); sister, Kathy Vinson (Frank Ferguson); grandchildren, Haley Parrish, Julie Parrish, Keeley Parrish, Christopher Parrish, Lex Martin (Haley) and Isaiah Parrish; great-grandchildren, Alexia Hooker Lele Martin and Mallory Lane Martin; nieces and nephews, Laura Vinson, Justice Harris, Le-ann Harris and Sydney Harris.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm Tuesday afternoon at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm from the graveside at Cedarwood Cemetery, with Pastor Randy Martin presiding.
