Charles "Bobby" Robert Cox

Charles Robert “Bobby” Cox, 81, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at his home.

Bobby was born February 5, 1944, in Halifax County to the late John and Gertrude Harrell Cox. Bobby was also preceded in death by his daughters, Terri Cox and Sherri Cox; his grandson, David Wayne Cox; his brothers, Billy Cox and James Cox; and his sister, Pat Hagood.

Bobby loved fishing, riding motorcycles, hanging out in his shop and cooking for his family and friends. Bobby also loved riding Carly in his jeep, he loved watching Gunsmoke and had every episode.

Bobby is survived by his wife Joanne Cox; his children, Melanie Cox, Amy Edwards and her husband Steve, Kimberly Williams and Josh Williams and his wife Christy; his grandchildren, Jessica Haselman and her husband James, Allyssa Murphy and her husband B.J., Carly Williams and Joshua Bland ; his great-grandchildren, Abigail Cox, Jack Joslyn, Joey and Jud Haselman and Liam and Halle Murphy; his sister, Lillian Cox Daniels; several nieces and nephews and his special companions, Zoey and Jasmine.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, November 24, 2025, at the funeral home and other times at the home. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery
