Carolyn Vincent Robbins

Carolyn Vincent Clark Robbins, 66, of 2121 Rebecca Street, Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, November 15, 2009, at Duke Medical Center.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and best friend and a 100% die hard Duke Blue Devil fan. She enjoyed listening to Gospel music, making people laugh, and was willing to help anyone at anytime. She worked at the Krogers Food Store from the time of its opening until its closing in Roanoke Rapids and worked in various fund-raising activities. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids. She was born May 25, 1943, in Halifax County to the late Dewey C. Vincent and Lillie Bell Cobu8rn Vincent. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn and Earline Vincent, and a brother, Elvin Vincent. She was married January 13, 1975 to Ralph David Robbins, II, who survives, as well as two sons, William Michael (Mike) Clark, Sr. and his wife, Loretta, and Ralph David Robbins, III (Robbie) and his special friend, Stephanie Duke; a step-daughter, Tammy Rogerson and her husband, Wilton; two brothers, Paul Melvin Vincent and his wife, Nellie, and Dewey Clayton Vincent, Jr.; two sisters, Glenda Woodruff and her husband, Thurman, Jr. and Louise Vincent, all of Roanoke Rapids, one niece, Melinda Guy and her husband, Seth; one nephew, Keith Vincent and his wife, Amy; six grandchildren, Michael and Lindy Clark, Tiffany Hayes, Brittany Boone, Robin Boone, Cameron, Kaitlin, and Courtney Rogerson; and a very special friend, Amy Hedgepeth. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 19, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service chapel with Rev. Wayne Marshall and Rev. Donald Outland officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Littleton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 18, from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. and other times at the Vincent home place, 1941 Daniel Street, in Roanoke Rapids.
