Burnette Bryan Morgan, Jr.

Burnette Bryan "B.B." Morgan, Jr., 86, of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Born on January 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Burnette Bryan Morgan, Sr. and Bertha Woodruff.

B.B. was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Hawkins Morgan, and his son, Mark Anthony Morgan. He is survived by his son, Gary Bryan Morgan, and his wife Yvonne Morgan; his daughter-in-law, Carol West (Kent); his brother, George Morgan, and his wife Betty Ruth; his son Mike Morgan (Jerri); and his sister-in-law, Faye Pepper and her husband David, as well as their children, son Jeffrey (Angie) and daughter April (Amber). B.B. loved his grandchildren endlessly: Megan Perry Ogburn and husband Andrew, Mitchell Anthony Morgan (Karina), and Meleah Bryan Morgan (Jordan). He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Maxton, Weston, Hutton, Aniston, and Benton.

He is also survived by his special friends, Earl and Linda Allen, Robert Williams, Junior and Shirley Robertson, and Ruby Sharber, with whom he shared many fond memories.  B.B. was widely known and respected throughout Eastern North Carolina and Southside Virginia for his work with Curtis Industrial, where he played an integral role in selling essential products to numerous local businesses. His commitment to service and his warm, personable nature made him a well-loved figure in the community. B.B. was a passionate Nascar racing fan and enjoyed good times spent with friends over drinks and fellowship. As well as caretakers, Minnie, Jennifer, and Judy who have been incredibly important figures in B.B.'s life over the past five years, supporting him on a daily basis.

A graveside service to honor B.B.’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Hawkins Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
